Skill Development Programme (SDP):

This programme aims at enhancing the skill of the target groups by giving training in income generating schemes/trades. Fund is allotted in the Budget Estimate of the Directorate in each year for this purpose. Individuals/households belonging to the Economically Weaker Section shall be eligible to apply for the scheme. Skill trainings like Bamboo Craft; Paramedical; Embroidery; Tailoring; Hospitality; Reed Making; DTP Computer Training and Banana/Pineapple Fibre Craft etc are given to the selected beneficiaries. Work Advisory Board (WAB) of the Department approves the work programme annually.

Health:

Under this scheme, efforts are made to improve the health of marginalized groups in the society. It was re-christened “Chief Minister’s Laiyeng Shen” in 2017-18 for extending financial assistance to widows only. An amount of Rs. 15,000/- will be given to each selected beneficiary for their medical treatment. The state Government has decided to discontinue with the widow’s health scheme as a much better health scheme called “Chief Minister’s Tengbang Shen” has already been introduced by the State Government.

Coaching Programme:

Remedial coaching to Minority/OBC/SC students for English, Mathematics and Science subjects was taken up since 2013-2014. It has been re-christened as “CM’s Lairik Yengminnasi” from 2017-18 onwards and it shall be implemented only in Government Schools.
